Eric Holtzclaw
Eric Holtzclaw brings 20 years of playing experience and 5 years of teaching expertise to his role as an instructor. He is passionate about helping individuals acquire new skills, particularly those they find challenging. His most notable golf achievement is shooting a 71 at Poppy Hills, and his favorite course is Torrey Pines. Outside of golf, Eric enjoys spending quality time with his family, hiking, and playing the drums.
Beginner Training Plan:
Your First Lesson:
- Focus on grip and physical assessment to determine the end range of motion.
- Introduce the fundamental principles of a sound golf swing.
Lessons 2-3:
Based on the outcomes and progress from the initial lesson, subsequent sessions will concentrate on targeted drills to reinforce learning and address specific areas for improvement.
Lessons 4-10:
As progress continues, these lessons will introduce the use of longer clubs, gradually expanding the student’s skill set. The pace will depend on individual outcomes.
Lesson 11+:
This advanced phase combines the four core phases of golf, each requiring distinct skill sets. Instruction will cover putting, short game irons, approaches, and ultimately, the driver.
